At Frendly, we value your privacy and that of your friends. In this privacy policy, we explain what personal data we collect, how we use it, and how we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What personal data do we collect?
Frendly processes personal data when you use our platform. This includes:

  • Your data as a user: Name, email address, phone number and other information you provide to use our services.

  • Data of friends (contacts): When you add friends in Frendly, we may collect their name, phone number, email address, and other relevant information you provide to us.

2. How do we use your data and that of your friends?
We process personal data to provide our services and improve your experience, including:

  • Reminders and suggestions
    We use your data and that of your friends to provide personalized reminders and activity suggestions to help you maintain your relationships.

  • Planning and booking activities
    When you plan an activity through Frendly, we process the data to ensure a smooth process.

  • Security and compliance
    We ensure that all data is securely stored and used only for the purposes for which it was collected.

3. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Performance of a contract
    For certain features, such as booking activities, processing personal data is necessary for the performance of our service.

  • Legitimate interest
    In some cases, we process personal data because it is in our legitimate interest, for example, to offer you the best experience and improve our services.

4. Consent from friends
When you add a friend in Frendly (for example, by entering their name or phone number), you are responsible for obtaining consent from that person. By adding their information, you confirm that you have obtained their consent to share their data with Frendly for the purposes outlined in this policy.

5. How do we protect personal data?
Frendly takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and modification. We employ end-to-end encryption, pseudonymization, and regular security audits, and limit data access strictly to authorized personnel, ensuring that all data is used only for the purposes for which it was provided.

6. Your rights and the rights of your friends
Under the GDPR, you and your friends have the following rights:

  • Right of access
    You can request access to the personal data we process about you and your friends at any time.

  • Right to rectification
    You can correct or supplement incorrect data (user account).

  • Right to erasure
    You can request the deletion of personal data (by deleting your account).

  • Right to Lodge a Complaint
    You have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you believe we are misusing your personal data:

7. Sharing of personal data
Frendly does not share personal data with third parties without your consent unless necessary for the execution of our services (for example, with a partner for booking an activity) or if required by law.

8. Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. In case of significant changes, we will notify you via our platform or email.



9. Data Retention

We retain personal data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we erase your data within 30 days, except: (a) backups (retained for max. 30 days), and (b) data we are legally required to retain (e.g. financial records, max. 7 years). After that, we delete or anonymize all personal data.


10. International Data Transfers
We store data within the EU. If we use service providers outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure protection through Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the EU or an equivalent adequacy decision.


11. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a personal data breach that may pose a risk to your rights, we will notify the Dutch Data Protection Authority within 72 hours, and inform you directly where required.
